Bastard son of Odin
Born to kick your ass
Bastard son of Odin
Living hard and driving fast

Legends spreading like wildfire
Of his mighty deeds
Roaming through the lands and oceans
Like a fiery breeze

Once he's got the taste of you
There's no turning back
Raise your sons to be consumed
For now he will attack

I swear to god, 90% of Battle Beast songs can be related to berserk somehow
----

I wanted to see how berserker armor looks from a different angle in this style. I think I'm getting much better at this, considering my first few pieces of berserk fanart. All the practice finally paying off!

Ink, brush, 7h.

Shitty photo will be replaced with scan later.

"I swear to god, 90% of Battle Beast songs can be related to berserk somehow "

So damn true Even if there's no explicit proof, and may very well NOT be, I like to envision how many given song of theirs COULD be "Berserk" themed

Indeed!
Like those two:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=DoS0Ih…
www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjKNPJ…
can be linked to Guts' story, without mentioning it directly

While this one www.youtube.com/watch?v=6vXq3t… kind of reminds me of Guts x Casca after she went insane...
"I am all that you remember,
Among the buried memories
I'm the tears running down your face
I'm the angel who sings you to sleep"

I mean, holy shit? lol
It wouldnt surprise me if Berserk had some kind of subconscious influence on all these lyrics

Exactly Some others:

"Die-Hard Warrior" - I listed this one in my 'preliminary' list, but it is a bit of a stretch to be a full-fledged "Berserk" song; more broadly though, it is indeed a perfect song for Guts
"Savage and Saint" - Guts x Casca, maybe?
"Unholy Savior" - Griffith, during his imprisonment and then up to the Eclipse
"Dancing with the Beast" - CascaΒ x Guts; or perhaps Casca's inner thoughts during the time she's in this 'demented' state
"Beyond the Burning Skies" - Griffith's ambitions
"We Will Fight" - Very vague maybe, but the whole 'stand and fight' idea, that "Berserk" certainly emphasizes at timesΒ

Ah yes, I noticed Savage and Saint and Beyond the Burning skies were very Berserk-ish.

Oh and: Justice and Metal
starts with the first line:
"He's a bad motherfucker he's a metal man"
Nuff said.

Do you know the name of the song when they mentioned "raid commander guts", or something along those lines? I forgot and couldnt find it on my playlist

Hehe, yep

Yep. You're thinking of "Victory", from their 'Steel' album :3

Another fact, the band's name is supposedly a reference to Zodd

Ahhh thanks!

Yep! One of their album covers look like one of the berserk title covers as well (where Guts holds unconscious Casca with a broken sword in his hand under the eclipse)

OH and I got my hands on a hard copy of berserk. First time I held one in my hands

when I opened it, it felt like

BAM
EPIC ART
IN YO FACE

reading hard copies of berserk is like having an entire art gallery in your hands

So true

Oh? AWESOME! >w<

I only read them via online scans, but yes, I've handled physical copies of the first five volumes, and I love them so much

Its really really different when you hold those copies in your hand rather than just reading them online
plan to collect them all, got a +400 page book (stretching from the Pirate encounter to shortly after the Ball @ Vritannis) for just 10 bucks

Im broke but fuck it... Lost children will likely be next

"got a +400 page book (stretching from the Pirate encounter to shortly after the Ball @ Vritannis) for just 10 bucks"

So it's one of those mega books, that is the equivalent of having 2 or more of the standard volume books?

Much like Odin, Guts lost an eye in a river (of blood) and in return received knowledge that was unbearable for mere mortals to carry

Dang, I didn't know that
Another thing that's similar to history or sages
I've seen people compare Griffith to Alexander the Great, too
