My favorite interpretation (well, besides bbc sherlock ) is soviet Sherlock Holmes (the series were called The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson), it is often said to be the best interpretation of the books, was also queen's Elizabeth II favorite

oh wow! really awesome pic! their clothes (especially the shadows! so beautiful) and their faces (and their facial expressions)! and everything! i absolutely love it! i can't even...
i actually don't know which holmes or which watson i like the best but i can only say that this picture is a masterpiece!
