Disclosure time: Even people who majored in literature have had their soft spots and guilty pleasures.Β

So, this sketch is a nod to girls (of all ages) who at least sometimes forget their dignity and let themselves fall prey to that low-brow version of an otherwise rather Byronic character:
Handsome, tough, mysterious, playing carefree... but "underneath their callous exterior, deep down" just longing to be loved (to use the words of a classic :-D).

I'm sure we *all* know at least one example.
And they all speak...,
yes...,
with a HUSKY voice
(or I eat my hat)
- if not from the start, then at least in that one scene when they finally open up about their long-hidden emotional wounds...
to that one, totally improbable, half-stranger girl...
(Swoon...)

Boy, if I only wrote down all the silly plots I had in my head as a teenager, I'd long have been an award-winning YA author!

Oh my, I just love your version of husky! Most of the people I know drew dogs

Hihihi
Well, of course I thought of the dog too butΒ
a) I can't draw dogs
and
b) it didn't take me long to make the other connection.
And I had great fun developing the idea, as you can imagine :-D

Do I understand well that your "eek" means
1) a confirmation of the fact that this kind of character is typically written with a female reader in mind and guys jus don't get what's going on :-D
and/or
2) the way some of these characters in some stories fit the clichΓ© to a T is, in itself, pretty repulsive ?

Hmmmm...why does this seem like a test?Β  I wonder... Β

So speaking as a teenage boy...okay technically I haven't been a teenage boy for over a year now..

but still...it might just mean...from my perspective ...

3) girls are weird

and just to be clear...mentally I'm still 12

It's not a test at all. I have enough of them being a teacher in my day job!

Your 3) confirms my 1) and probably also 2). So everyone wins

Biological age is totally irrelevant.
Mentally I fluctuate between 10 and roughly 85.
My husband's mental age depends on the hour of the day. Before 7 a.m. he's about 5. After 9 p.m. he's 17. Most of the time in between he's about 6,000...
