Just did a value check on this and it's fairly well balanced, are you value checking as you paint to see what colours are working? I find using a more candied colour palette like this makes it quite difficult to maintain sensible value gradients.

I don't check very often but they mostly come up flat. The art looks shaded since I tend to use a contrasted color for shading, but grayscale loses all definition. It's neat how color can add such values like that.

It is a little flat in the hair but I figured that it was a good move since it doesn't pull focus from the face. The only place where I would say it's a little off kilter is the specular of the eye as the blue there is actually darker than the surface. Generally speaking though I think it's pretty well defined. I like to value check this kind of work as it often gives an insight to the artist's methods and priorities which is very interesting, I'd say this is one of only a couple I've seen that worked nicely in greyscale!
