Reminds me of the train from the kids' book Jake knew from Dark Tower.

An actual quote from BEN-HUR came to mind: "Your eyes are full of hate, 41...that's good."

Did they have in US at any time at any railroad a triplex headlight ? Typicaly is in US a mono headlight. In Germany / Europe the triplex headlight was introduced in the 50ies so it was easier to distinguish trains and roadtraffic. Previously mostly two headlights were used.
I wonder how the smokebox will be opened to clean the tubes and get consistend again?
Seems to be a narrow gauge loco.

You know, written account stated that even in the 19th-century people feared trains and I don't know about you, but if I saw that hissing and screaming down the tracks, I'd be a little scared for life

I just watched this movie today. A bit more violent than I expected, but I'm glad I got to see all the Casey Junior scenes. Plus, Danny Devito did an amazing job, like he always does.

OK Tim Burton, thanks for re-enforcing one of my reasons why these live-action remakes don't work.

I see he's number 41. Must be a reference to the original 1941 Dumbo.

I think the worst part ain't the design
it's when you hear a faint ghost whispers of the train in the baby mine repirse at the end of the credit
