Description The Forward
I've actually had this floating around for a while and just today I opened it up and realized that they all looked...rather plain, under-detailed and not quite up to the same spot my swords are. So I moved them over to MS Paint and toyed around with them a bit, sadly, I didn't think to save the old work and was saving over all the previous designs so you can't see the changes I made, all I can do I hope these turned out okay

And now, onto the work 8D

ARMOR

Midnight Carapace - This is actually the last one I made for this set, I was trying how new colors while tweaking one of the other designs and found that I liked what resulted. My only regret is that due to the color palette I used for it, it's harder to make out any small details, but I like how it seems to glow a bit. Between the design and the colors, it almost reminds me of something you might see in Metroid or something.

Armor - Really nothing more or less, this was the first bit of armor I worked on and it came from an actual little pixel character I made, so from this scale I'm pretty certain it'll fit on the little sprite guys I've designed so far. Really, I wanted it to look sturdy and just resemble armor, which I believe it does XD

Coral Armor - I'm pretty sure this isn't the right color for coral, but I was trying something that seem aquatic with scale and fin sort of shapes and some water coloring. It's one of my better detailed armors, looks good even at normal zoom, which is great.

Dragon Plate - As it says, I wanted something easily associated with fiery dragons and so burning red was the color I picked and going for something strong looking and plated seem the way to go. The shoulders were my favorite part to come up with, makes them seem powerful with how broad they are and tipped with a bit of spike.

Gold Armor - This was actually one of the better ones I had previously made, BUT after redesigning the others I had to bring it up to date and wow did I got for it. I added in wing-like shoulders and even accidentally worked in a heart-like shape there, from what I can tell. I used a blend of three different gold/yellow colors to try and make the armor seem like it was gleaming, it's a bit hit or miss, I think depending on how YOU see it.

Iron Armor - I didn't want anything too flashy, again I was just going for something that seemed sturdy enough to be armor and I wanted a different color scheme that light and dark grey for a metallic look. It's a bit "dull" in coloring now that I look at it, but I think it fits well enough.

Jade Armor - I wanted to try out a variety of colors for the armor and of course tweak the designs enough so they weren't just re-colors of stuff I already had. Jade seemed like a good way to go, it's one of those "mystical" armor types and hails a bit from the Eastern flavor of fantasy.

Spike Plate - I really wanted this one to look cool...it's really doesn't that much, BUT it does look immensely better than it had (trust me ). No set is really complete without somethings almost as hazardous to the person wearing it as the person fighting against it, I say XD

Steel Plate - This was naturally the third bit of armor I made and I attacked it with the traditional shades of grey for a sort of chrome look. I wanted it to look heavy and have rounded pauldrons rather than sharp or spikey ones. I'm thinking it's probably the strongest looking set i have so far and I used it as a base for the Midnight Carapace, if you look you can tell.

Closing
Well, there you have it, my dabbling experiments in pixel armor. I'll likely play around with it more and try to come up with more fun and creative designs. Until then, enjoy and I'll catch you next time

It's all a matter of playing around...when you work with images THIS small, the adding or removing of a single dot or slight change of color makes all the difference in the world.  I wanted to make a tutorial to show all the little tricks I taught myself as I did these, but I really don't even know how to go about it, it's just try and pick up new things as you go

Someone still needs to make sprites that fit these lovely creations of yours.
