Hey, you said you used a graphite 8B pencil, but what did you do to get the shading so smooth? Even with a blending stick it's hard to geet anything neaer that apperance without using some sort of photoshoping method. Did you use water or something? I've seen that done, but never anything with results like this.

Thanks for your responce in advance.

Thank you very much for you kind words! It is drawn in the same method as My Beyonce tutorial. I used a blending stick and ear cleaners for blending. And LOTs and LOTs of practice! No Photoshop and no water. But a little trick. The big blenders get softer than the small ones When they get older. And I tend to use the same Blenders on My dry pastels. I dont know if that effects the blending stick! Just thought you should now all the variables if you want to try it out yourself!
And the brand on the graphite matters a lot. I have tried a lot of different brands and some are real crap!

Thank you!

Not a problem, just curious is all.

Ear cleaners? I've never heard of those. Guess I'll have to look into that.

Yeah, so have I.

Thank you for the info.

Ear cleaners are cotton sticks for your ears! In school we use them as a cheap replacement for blenders!

Thank you! I try to paint pictures that tells us something about the individuals character. In this case. A proud but perhaps a little ashamed Elf king. Thanks!
