Hehehe....the large amount of black and the brightness of the white areas give this the feel of an old-fashioned style black and white photo. ^^ It's not greyscale--it's truly black and white. I like it--and your nephews look as active as mine! *has one nephew, who is six* Only, mine loves his GameBoy, and thus doesn't play with toys on the floor much.

the movement of the one on the left and the expression on the one facing us really puts together a sense of mayhem! i have an 18 month old toddler - i can relate to this kind of energy!
fantastic - and I think the black and white really adds to it. with color it may be too visually cluttered.

the many layers of depth make the kids appear closer than the page/screen itself. plus the demon children that belong in an aphex twin video are just too cool. extremely rich detail and tonal range.

Wonderful capture of a rather frightening young man (and his accomplice)! They both seem like mononokes, demons from the dark world of our imagination. I'm particularly fond of the crouching lad's movement- it gives the impression of claws. And of course, the dark shadows of his face help the overall theme of the image.
I'd have to say, I believe I'd run away if I encountered these two as you display them!
