I painted it about 2 years ago, so i am not sure anymore but i think it was 10-15h in several sittings, i would probably do a better job in half the time now.

No its not based on Breath of Fire, but i think i got the "Tyrant Dragon" name from one of the games.

hehehe , i was tripping , that reminded me of the last dragon before the last boss on the third one , teppo was the name of the guy that turns into this dragon , but it turns out it is lord dragon , and not tyrant.there is a tyrant one in magic the gathering(i bet they already got all the possible names for dragon cards)
