He is, indeed! I always thought that about ObiWan, from the first time we see him in ANH, all the way through the PT, with Ewan portraying him. He's a thinker, to be sure! Thank you for taking time to view and comment, and for the (and for ALL the faves!); it's greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the kind words, and for another ; I've always loved Ewan as Obi Wan in AOTC--for some reason, it was my favorite portrayal of the three prequels, combining the brashness we saw in the first film with the tempering of becoming a Master and being tasked with training Anakin...sort of the best of both worlds. I appreciate your visit--thank you again!

Thank you kindly! I adored Obi Wan's look in AOTC--so bloody handsome it almost hurt! This photo was one of my favorites of him from that film, too--all Jedi Master, very serious and looking positively devour-able! **wipes drool off chin** I guess that's why I wanted to draw him, then--and I'm so glad you like it!

Good question: I'm glacially slow, so it takes me a lot longer than some more prolific artists here; this one was around 20 hours total, I think. Not straight through, of course, but over a period of weeks, a few hours at a time. Accurate likenesses take me a lot longer than something that doesn't require such accuracy, like an original or RPG character; but the shading and fine pencil work still take a long time. Hope that answers things for you!

Yeah it does pretty well too.

the longest it took me to do something so far is a full afternoon to do everything but the more complete sketch.

Thanks so much--I'm glad you like this! AOTC Master Obi Wan was one of my favoriter iterations of the character--Ewan MacGregor did such a superb job, paying much homage to Sir Alec's original while still making the role his own... I appreciate the visit and kind words--thank you again!

ROFL! I've had more than ONE piece be tarred with the "Jesus portrait" brush! LOL! This, however, came straight from a beautiful portrait of Ewan MacGregor as AOTC Obi Wan, so I can't take total blame for the look! Perhaps that's what the photographer had in mind, though! Thanks for taking a look!

yes, i think i know that photo.
I never liked it that Obi Wan was so... beautiful and clean. I always imaged him to be roughed up and more serious because of the war, but sadly not.
Remember the scene in his home, where Luke is reminding him? He was sad and somewhat bitter. That is the expression i would have wanted for episode 2 and 3. But it was more fun to him and Anakin.

I'm just too much of a Star Wars fan for my own good, and your art is amazing. The art that really looked photo-esqe for me was his beard...that looks really real!

Yeah...me too! AOTC Obi-Wan WAS yummy, in a big, big way--I think that was part of the motivation for this drawing, too--just to take that long looking at him... Mmmm!

McGregor had such huge shoes to fill, taking on the role of a younger Obi-Wan, and I think he did Sir Alec proud with his portrayal. Thank you so much for taking time to comment, and for the , too--you're too kind! **bows**

Yes--Ewan did a terrific job with a very well-known and beloved character; I can't imagine what a burden it must've been, trying to step into old Ben's "younger shoes," especially when Sir Alec did SUCH a fabulous job... Apparently he studied him relentlessly in the first three films and tried to copy his word timing and movements, etc.
