Description The Space Battleship Yamato is humanity's last hope. built in secret inside the wreckage of an old Japanese battleship. the resurrectedΒ  Yamato has a one year deadline to reach the planet Iscandar, where there is a sliver of hope for the remnants of humanity. powered by an alien designed engine, the Yamato is capable of converting the vacuum of space into tachyon energy and riding that wave of energy to fast than light travel . The Yamato features a array of offensive and defensive systems, including huge main battery's, point defense cannons, full hanger bay of fighters and the devastating wave motion gun. the Yamato is the only ship that stands in the way of Gamilas empire(and its plans for earth), but this legendary ship and its crew will stop at nothing to save humanity.

Here is my Finished 1/1000 Space battleship Yamato 2199 by bandai(Cosmo Reverse Ver) built out of the box with some IJN color swaps for the paint. this mighty spaceship comes from the re-boot/re-telling of the classic 70's anime "Space battleship Yamato" or for many "Starblazers"
i was really happy with the model kit and other than a few minor fit issues it was a great build. the kit has many aweosme details and gimmicks(rivals my 1/500 model almost) overall i am pretty happy with the work i did to this kit and in a couple of days this model will be featured in a "dry dock" diorama iΒ  am building for it. i figured i might as well get one shot of it by itself and give myself a a little photo/editing practice as this model was fitted on a bandai action base that i removed during editing.

As always questions, comments and suggestions welcome!

not sure about hours but i built/painted this over the course of three weeks. tho i did put in some very late nigh and marathon modeling sessions with this one.

Are you good with welding material out of elements. Like sculpting cause I'm looking into doing that.

i am not great at it but haven't really tried in awhile. well bigger sculpts anyways. i do sculpt a bit of details for my figurines out of epoxy putty.

If I were to send you the pieces would you be able. To melt and weld them into something for me?

on a personal side I am irked by how radically different the SBY's design is to the Yamato that ruled the seas but I guess anime artists have their own designs, all in all a great looking model

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

enc86 In reply to UssrYuri [2015-07-11 00:34:34 +0000 UTC]

ahhh i can understand that point of view. i really like how they integrated the design elements into this space ship. but to each their own.
thanks a tonnage, glad you like the model.

UssrYuri In reply to enc86 [2015-07-11 00:37:55 +0000 UTC]

main issue is with the defensive turrets, not enough on the bow and stern

also no problem my friend, its a great piece I would be crazy to not like it

enc86 In reply to UssrYuri [2015-07-11 00:42:18 +0000 UTC]

yea i can see that, some logic was lost with this ships design. but IMO it makes up for it with extra kool XD

ah yes, the deciding factor of everything, the kool level

Thanks friend, this really was a great kit to assemble and paint. this is the smallest scale project i have attempted , pretty dang impressed it came out as good as it did(and i didn't loose any of the tiny bits lol)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FSudol In reply to enc86 [2015-07-11 00:33:27 +0000 UTC]

Cool. Yeah, all those small parts can easily get lost if they fall off the working surface.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

enc86 In reply to FSudol [2015-07-11 00:35:58 +0000 UTC]

lol yes sir, one in fact did bounce off the work space and into the void. and thus began an hour long hunt for the tiny bit on the floor.
