Description I went a little overboard with the stowage but the kit looked really bare and I figured why not. anyways soon after I stared building this thing I got an idea for a diorama and figured a lone "zone" explorer would need to have a bit of gear for his travels.

at the time this was one of my most detailed models and really made me raise the bar on each build.

do you know where I can get stowage for my mutt?

i use scalehobbyist www.scalehobbyist.com/ myself, but amazon and ebay can work too. sometimes i use that site as a catalog(they have good search functions) and look for item elsewhere.

here is some sets that would work great www.scalehobbyist.com/catagori… www.scalehobbyist.com/catagori… Β  www.scalehobbyist.com/catagori… Β

of course you could always mix and matchΒ  www.scalehobbyist.com/catagori… Β Β  when i built mine, i used left overs, you could really blow mine out of the water if you got a set just for it. those "Verlinden" sets are really really nice and worth the $$ IMOΒ  if you bought a good set, you could have enough stowage for 2 builds.Β  they are made of resin tho, and require a bit of different steps to get them ready for paint. (have to wash them with soap, cut off blocks, sand and prime)nothing too hard.

How about making cigarettes in a soldiers hand?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

enc86 In reply to Railwaywerewolf [2013-12-09 11:19:31 +0000 UTC]

i use two part epoxy putty. i roll it into a thin small tube(like a cigarette) let dry, them i cut a little long, glue to a figurine , trim and paint the cigarettes . you can use the epoxy for other things as well, cigeret packs sandbags ect.

Old military axiom: Two is one, one is none---always hunt with a buddy.

Beautiful work as always.
If I ever do one of these, I'd go "Rat Patrol"---a .50 caliber, rather than what looks like a .30 caliber M60.

enc86 In reply to master-ninjabear [2013-05-17 02:50:28 +0000 UTC]

lol yup!

thank you, and yes its a M60(provided with the kit) i have a tons of .50's on hand but have been hoarding them away for future projects....

The hoarded .50s are for that uber-station wagon project right?

Starfox2o12 In reply to enc86 [2013-05-17 02:51:52 +0000 UTC]

Doesn't look basic to me. The age just adds to the realism of the kit.

well the mutt itself was pretty simple(great build tho) i just spiced it up with some added gear and such.

yea it really can bring the eye in. this shot is really close up(the kits is really small) it looks alot more natural at a proper viewing distance IRL. anyways its all loaded up and ready to brave some crazy scene i think up.

Cheers but I don't know where you get all this equpiment from, is the details sold separate??

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

enc86 In reply to Shay-Tank-Dragon-41 [2013-05-16 15:09:57 +0000 UTC]

XD

its all stuff that i have collected and hoarded away. i cherry pick details from kits and hold on to them. anyways their is a few different detail sets sold separately. i bought this set when i first got into 1/35 [link] it has lasted me a long time and really really worth it! it comes with about 10x more than is shown, including 2 dogs and a big sheet of ration boxes. highly recommended for the price. of course there are TONS and TONS of other sets out their.
