Day 7 - Aftermath

The fact that Lyo took the new positively lifted an enormous weight off Alexa's shoulder, one thing less to worry about finally. But the facts were still the same, there was so much to untangle and put back on track. Not only did the Italian waited far longer than planned to sort anything, so when the Pirate wondered if he could be useful for anything, Alexa did not miss her chance to ask him to pick up Zaun's training, as well as show him in the upcoming Futurity Championship. For being due around September,, it made Al's show plans very complicated, more than improbable for her to be back in her full glory for November, and impossible to actually continue with the same training schedule, even less with a colt like this that was still full of surprises and bad ideas.
Of course Alexa didn't have the shadow of a doubt about leaving Zaun under Lyo's care, knowing him more than capable to deal with his energy and quirks; while in the meantime its the Captain instead that did not seem fully confident with the task ahead. Suddenly getting the pressure of doing justice to Alexa's last 5 years of training towards that main goal.

Either way, having both finished with their classes here in Tuscany, it gave some spare time for a test ride. So as planned the day before, Alexa tacked up her horse to meet Lyo in the training field, hoping - but not worried- that the two of them would be a match and that the Captain would feel a little more at peace with this very dressage focused surprise project.

But at the end of the day, bringing the stallion home with him was still one less horse at MS for her to ride, one less temptation for a quick training, and one less chance of pushing her current and upcoming limitations.

Thankfully there was still quite a few months between them and the event.
