Genie the gold and turquoise halfmoon siamese fighting fish. (Betta Splenden). I adore the sheen of his beautiful scales. He jabbers at me when I'm around, it's almost like he is trying to talk. Most likely shouting 'More food please!!'Related content

He really does! It's so funny, my other betta Warrior doesn't. He simply flares at everything instead. Genie is definitely the 'cute one' :3

Yeah, they definitely all have different habits. Haha, one of my bettas (named Cyan) does the most ridiculous wiggle dance whenever I'm near his tank. It's a winning strategy for getting food, that's for sure.
Genie is adooooorable. I'm really impressed that he has both a pretty green sheen and also the blue coloration on his fins. Sooo pretty, you are very lucky to be in the presence of such a marvelous little fish.
I'll have to see pictures of Warrior at some point...

I know, they're sooo cute when they dance aren't they! I call Genie a flirt because he really is XD He always manages to melt my heart and want to give him a treat.
I have a photo of Warrior on my page, it's not the best though. I was actually going to take some more tonight because I've just got him a new light for his tank so I'll be putting some more up later tonight I imagine. If I get a good shot that is

My boyfriend is definitely the photographer out of the two of us, but he is showing me how to use his camera and I'm using my fishies as my models ^_^ Not the easiest of subjects, but it's a lot of fun nonetheless.

Tell me about it! He's in an 8gallon tank all to himself and he absolutely loves all the room. He scoots about all over the place. I find it so sad when you see bettas sitting in tiny cups or bowls

Ah, one of mine is in a 10 gallon (With all my cleaner fish, 1 molly and 4 goldfish(I know 10 gal isn't enough room for them...but my 40gal tank was smashed by my mum and my 10 gal was the second biggest left, it's at a temp the goldies and tropicals can tolerate..)) And the other in an 8 gal with my 4 remaining Neon Tetra.. They're bad set ups but it gets REALLY cold here in the winter and I only have two heated tanks left, so this is my temporary winter set up so the fish remain warm.. I hope to get the goldies enough room in the future too.

Yeah...my little Shubunkin, who I called Scooter is one of my favourite fish.(s)He has so much personality it's unreal...and (s)he's oh so cute..
Sometimes (s)he hides behind the filter and when I sit in front of the tank, he scoots out and looks right at me. xP
..I've even had some interactions with him before...which could've just been scary coincidences.
