It all depends on the culture; almost all domesticated animals have been kept as pets and raised for food all over the world. I live in America where we eat mostly chickens, cows, pigs, ducks, lambs, etc. But I know some cultures eat cats and dogs and I don't judge them. The Hindus are appalled at the thought of eating cows. But vegans as well as other animal rights crazies don't know any different; they are way too attached to all the animals. Btw, I just updated mine and Falchion1984's Final Fantasy Tactics fic. I'd recommend you read it on Ao3 because I can insert the illustrations there:

I've always hated PETA. Their top dogs pocket the donation money while letting their volunteers do all the work. They also put to sleep thousands of healthy cats and dogs in their shelters every year instead of using the money to help them. I would never give PETA one dime.
