Description Inked version of the scrap I put up the other day. Coloured version here ! These two were invented by a friend and drawn by me because they're adorable and my fingers started itching I wanted to draw them so much.

Beau and Him belong to Megan .

Ooooh this is really neat. I really love how you added in faint impressions of the bricks instead of makig the shadow flat black. Very nice!

Thanks! Shadows are really thin so you can sometimes kind of see the texture of whatever they're on at the moment through them. /headcanon that never really made it into the story

Nice! I like the colours you picked, they give it a kind of dark but cute feel? What program do you use to colour in? (I did the ink in Manga Studio Debut but I exported it to Photoshop to crop the edges and also so I could save it as a PNG file because MS is dumb and doesn't do PNG for some reason.)

Thanks! I used MyPaint I did it with my mouse since I don't have a tablet yet. Thank god for the filler tool, but even with that it was kind of tedious - okay, not tedious, but it was just a lot of precarious work XD I loved it a lot, though! I would have used FireAlpaca but I'm a lot more familiar with MyPaint and it's really easy to change things to a bunch of different file types. It's kind of like how I upload my art. Since I don't know how to use my scanner, I just take pictures of my drawings and upload them into a picture folder on my computer, but the problem is that they're all uploaded as unknown file types so I just open them in MyPaint and then save them into the picture folder as a .jpeg file type and upload them.

Oh I used MyPaint for a while! It was kind of nice, the brushes are amazing! But I really missed the scroll bar. Also wow sounds like drawing stuff is a huge production, why can't scanners just be easy to work with instead of being covered with mysterious runic inscriptions and arrows that don't point to anything?? (I'm looking at YOU, my grandmother's scanner that used to work but doesn't any more for no good reason!)

I really like MyPaint. I feel like a dork for asking this, but what's a scroll bar? Oh, wait, is it the thing that lets you scroll up and down the piece you're working on? I noticed it didn't do that. I mean, you could magnify the picture but you couldn't scroll or grab the page and move to specific areas.

I know! Scanners are so difficult. I tried, I really did, and then I was just "NOPE" and decided to just do in the whole big complicated way because at least I knew what I was doing xD

Yeah, that's the scroll bar. I had the hardest time using MyPaint because it took me forever to figure out that it zooms in on the cursor when you zoom, and then forever again to realise that I could use the arrow keys to move around the scrren. XD

XD maybe it's just easier for me to use MyPaint because that's how I started out. I'm sure that if I tried to use Photoshop right now I'd just fall into a spiral of "HOW?"

Although I'm kinda mad that it doesn't have a blur tool ... or, it might ... I may have just not found it yet XD I'm been trying to get a little more familiar with FireAlpaca, which is my newest program. I have Paint, MyPaint, and FireAlpaca. I tried to acquire PS CS5 but I opened it wrong and haven't been able to fix it XD oh well. I'm more of a SAI fan, anyway. And I'm getting a tablet for Christmas so I'm pretty much just over-the-moon about that I can't wait.

And if you have anymore art you want colored, I'd really love to do that for you. Although my skills are mediocre at best, it's really fun

I think they have some brushes that can be used to blend? Ummm, if you go into the Classic brush set, there's blend+paint, wet-knife, blending-knife, and blur brushes (the blur creates a kind of stippled pattern though, not like the blur tool in PhotoShop at all). I haven't really used those brushes extensively so I don't know how well they work though. =/

Aw yes that's awesome! Having a tablet is really great. Yeah I should send you some inked stuff sometime! Sometimes I don't really feel like colouring something but if you'd like to instead that would be great.

Yeah the blur brushes are a bit weird XD I was more into the tool because there's a blur tool in FireAlpaca that's really nice and efficient and easy to use.

Yeah I'd really love to work with you some more I really like your style.
