This scene contains such power, to see the ones who literally created you die this way. It's so awful, but it adds depth to the story, it hits you in the right emotional spot.
Despite their certain deaths, even when they faced their end, it was Ethad and Filigree's love for their son that really got to me. Just the way that their story was how it all began, their love was off to not so good of a start, but then things changed. They seemingly defied the odds, although they met their end abruptly.
It only adds to the mystery of where this story will go, and who really is that cunning vampire girl thing? The story will go on, and I'm certain that at some point Blaze will get his chance not only at revenge for his parents, but to end the war as well. You and your characters really ignited my interest in griffins. Peace.

Yeah, even though I didn't show much of Blaze's pup-hood, his parents were for a time the only family and friends he had, since nogriff from either of the two clans wants anything to do with him.
And I guarantee we will be seeing much more of the so-far unnamed vampire. She is unpleasant at best, downright demonic at worst, and she will be even more dangerous acting alone than with werewolves under her command.

I was and still am inspired.
That must be pretty miserable, being an outcast from all known society with no one to turn to other than your parents. Now that they're gone, I can't imagine that. But I do understand why Blaze wants now more than ever to end the war and restore peace.
When it comes to the vampire acting alone, Blaze saw firsthand or first-claw that villain's handiwork. That would be terrible, to see an innocent murdered in such a gruesome and violent manner. However, this only adds to the mystery of who this vampire really is.
