I'm the only one who feels very sorry for Rongel? I mean, he lost his wings. And I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that flying is important to griffins, just like for birds.
It is just like you or me wake up one day and discover that my entirely arm or leg just got amputated... It's shocking.

How much of a jerkfeathers he was to Filigree (and Ethad) makes it just a tad bit harder though. He makes a reappearance in the literature and even has a moment of heroics to make up for it.
