SuperMan and Popeye

Superman flies through the skies and sees a mysterious portal open up in front of him, he investigates it.

He looks closely at it and sees Mr. Mxyzptlk one of his enemies from the 5th dimension.

“Oh! It’s been a while Super Stoop!” Says Mxyzptlk.

“What are you up to this time?” Asks Superman.

“Well you see, I’ve found another dimension and it’s a lot more fun than this ol’ 3-D world! It’ll be sad not bugging you and pulling on your cape anymore but, all good things must come to an end!” Says Mr. Mxyzptlk.

“I’m not going to let you terrorize another world!” Says Superman.

Mxyzptlk goes through the portal and Superman follows.

Meanwhile in a small town, Popeye the Sailor man is walking to a store to restock on his ever so important Spinach.

Popeye was about to enter the store when suddenly his rival Bluto stands in his way.

“What do you want now ya big lug?” Asks Popeye.

“It’s it obvious half pint? This is the day I finally beat ya! And Olive Oyl will finally be mine!” Says Bluto.

“She’s never going to accept ya ya big Walrus!” Says Popeye.

“She will once I lay you out pipsqueak!” Says Bluto.

And with that they begin to brawl!

On the other side, Superman exits the portal and looks around at his surroundings.

“This must be where Mxy ran off to, but I wonder why he chose it?” Asks Superman.

He looks down and sees Popeye and Bluto mid fisticuff. Bluto was preparing a cartoonish haymaker for Popeye when Superman intervenes and stops the attack.

“Fighting in a small town surrounded by innocent people is unacceptable.” Says Superman.

“The Big Baluga started it!” Says Popeye.

“This is none a ya business!” Says Bluto

Bluto prepare to strike Superman with his large fist but Superman immediately blocks the attack!

“Looks like somebody’s going to have to teach this bully some manners!” Says Superman.

Superman grabs Bluto by the shirt and hurls him into a tall tree in cartoonish fashion.

“You can’t do this tuh meeeeee!” Says Bluto.

“I just did. Now think on your actions pal.” Says Superman.

Superman gracefully glides down to meet with Popeye.

“Sir, you might wanna stay away from trouble like him.” Says Superman.

“I try, trouble always seems to find me. He has the sweets for me lady.” Says Popeye.

“I see. Anyway, I’m looking for a Criminal. I think it’s best that you get you and your lady friend somewhere safe.” Says Superman.

And with that, Superman flies off.

“He’s flyin’ without wings! Now I have seen everythin’!” Says Popeye.

Popeye returns to his home leaving Bluto dangling by his underwear from the top of the tree.

Mr. Mxyzptlk floats through the air and toward Bluto.

“I see you’re having some trouble Big Guy!” Says Mr. Mxyzptlk.

Mr. Mxyzptlk snaps his fingers and both he and Bluto find themselves on the ground instantly.

“What do you want Squirt?” Says Bluto.

“I want to make a deal with ya? You see, I’ve been watching you and I see that you’re havin’ ya a bit of a losin’ streak. I can help you grow stronger than before. What da ya say?” Asks Mr. Mxyzptlk.

“Sounds interestin’. Just one problem, everytime Popeye pops one uh them there Spinach cans he always beats me!” Says Bluto.

“Not tuh worry Big Guy! I can get rid a all tha Spinach in this here world!” Says Mr. Mxyzptlk.

“I’m all ears Tiny!” Says Bluto.

Elsewhere, Popeye returns home to Olive Oyl.

“Did you get your Spinach sweetie?” Asks Olive.

“I did my Angel. And I met the strangest guy. He can fly around without wings!” Says Popeye.

“Really?!?” Asks Olive.

“Yeah! Indeed he can.” Says Popeye.

Suddenly, someone knocks at their door.

Popeye opens the door and sees Bluto.

“You again! Take uh hint ya big Gorilla!” Says Popeye.

“I don’t take hints, I take what I want! N’ you’re in my way!” Says Bluto.

Bluto punches Popeye in the face with a wild haymaker!

Popeye grabs a can of Spinach but Mr. Mxyzptlk turns the Spinach into sand with a snap of his fingers!

“It’s so nice ta meet ya Popeye!” Says Mr. Mxyzptlk.

“Just what the heck are yuh doin’ here?!?” Says Popeye.

“I’m helping this guys steal ya girl away! And destroying all of this world’s Spinach so you can’t do a thing ‘bout it!” Says Mr. Mxyzptlk.

“Why you oversized melon havin’ loser!” Says Popeye.

Popeye prepares to attack Mxy but Mxy teleports away in the blink of an eye!

“Sorry but that aint happenin’!” Says Mr. Mxyzptlk.

Bluto grabs Olive Oyl!

“You’re gunna be mine whether ya like it uh not!” Says Bluto.

Suddenly Superman swoops in!

He quickly punches Bluto in the face flattening it like a pancake and puts Olive gently to the ground.

“You’ll be safer here ma’am.” Says Superman with a wink.

“Superman! Why do ya always gotta ruin my fun!” Says Mr. Mxyzptlk.

“Your so-called games harm innocent people Mxy!” Says Superman.

“Always the blasted Golden Boy ain’t ya! Makes me sick!” Says Mr. Mxyzptlk.

“Yeah, I’m going to enjoy breakin’ that pretty little face uh yours!” Says Bluto.

Bluto charges at Superman but Popeye stands in his way!

“If yuh want my friend here you gotta go thru me ya big Rhino!” Says Popeye.

Popeye punches Bluto in the face sending him flying through the wall!

Bluto picks himself off the ground and reveals an Angry face covered in Cartoon Lumps!

“Calm down Big Guy. They may uh won this battle, but they won’t win thu war! Let’s make us one uh them tactical retreats!” Says Mr. Mxyzptlk.

And with that they disappear in a puff of white smoke!

“They’ll be back.” Says Superman.

Suddenly the radio turns on.

“We interrupt this silence to give you an important and well timed message! All of the Spinach is being turned into dust before our very eyes! A small man in a Purple suit is coming this way!” Says the news report in sheer terror.

Mr. Mxyzptlk appears to the news reporter and turns him into a Cocker Spanial.

“WOOF WOOF!” Says the now Dog reporter.

“Attention everyone! This is ya new Lord ‘n Mastuh! I, Mr. Mxyzptlk have decided ta take ova this world! But don’t worry! I’m takin’ ova other worlds too! I’m sure we’re all gonna get along!” Says Mr. Mxyzptlk maniaclly.

“Take otha worlds?!? That’s alls I can stands and I can’t stands no mores!” Says Popeye.

“Before you go, I have just one Spinach left. I hid it in the Refrigerator.” Says Olive.

“Thank ya my sweet doll!” Says Popeye.

“Well, looks like we’re gonna have to work together to stop them.” Says Superman.

“Agreed.” Says Popeye.

And with that, they go to stop Mr. Mxyzptlk.

At the center of the town, Mr. Mxyzptlk turns the civilians into various cartoon creatures!

“This is exciting! No one is goin’ my ruin my fun! Not even those two Chowderheads!” Says Mr. Mxyzptlk.

Suddenly Superman and Popeye arrive on the scene!

“Hey! You betta turn these people back ta normal!” Says Popeye.

“Normal?!? Nothin’ here is exactly normal pal!” Says Mxy.

“We’re putting an end to this. Now!” Says Superman.

Bluto appears and glares at the two with a cartoonish stink eye.

“This time I’m gettin rid o’ yous! Permanantly!” Says Bluto.

“Not with that human body of yours! I’ll give ya some of this here magic!” Says Mr. Mxyzptlk.

Mxy uses his magic to turn Bluto into a giant Monster!

Bluto charges at Popeye and Superman!

After a few minutes of fighting Bluto was left on the ground covered in lumps.

“Well, if ya want somethin’ done right, I guess ya gotta do it yaself!” Says Mr. Mxyzptlk.

Mr. Mxyzptlk suddenly shapeshifts into a bodybuilder and pops both Superman and Popeye forcing them to hit the nearby wall!

“Today’s the day I finally beat ya Superman!” Says Mr. Mxyzptlk.

“Don’t bet on that ya purple imp!” Says Popeye.

Popeye uses his secret can of Spinach and pops it open shooting the Spinach in his mouth making him stronger!

“Now the real fight begins!” Says Popeye.

After a few more minutes of fighting Superman and Popeye continue to wallop Mxy! With one great punch in unison Mr. Mxyzptlk is sent flying into the sky!

The force of the punch is so furious that he is launched directly into outer space!

Mxy flys towards a black hole and is sucked into the unknown!

All of the civilians are turned back to normal.

They all cheer, hurrah, and hooray for Superman and Popeye, the town heroes!

Bluto stands up groggily with cartoon birds flying around his head, getting ready to leave but Superman grabs him by the shirt lifting him off the ground as he tries to run on air.

“You’re not going anywhere pal! Except for the town jail.” Says Superman.

“Awww geez louise.” Says Bluto.

Superman puts Bluto in a jail cell.

Superman returns to the town.

“So, you finally stopped that hooligan. What are ya gonna do now?” Asks Popeye.

“Trying to figure out how to get back to my world friend.” Says Superman.

“I think this ol’ sailor can help ya with that!” Says Popeye.

Popeye pulls a magic pencil out of his pocket and draws a fancy door breaking the laws of physics in cartoonish fashion.

“How on earth did you do that Popeye?!?” Asks Superman.

“Buddy, I’ve learned in life, sometimes it’s best just not ta ask questions.” Says Popeye with a wink and a laugh.

“Well anyway, thank you my friend. Take care of your town Sailor man!” Says Superman.

And with that Superman opens the door to his home world.
