Haha much appreciated bro! I don't know. There seems to be always something that's holding me back from posting on dA nowadays. Last time I wanted to submit a shot the entire site went down for like an entire day...bitches!

Dude.....this site is nothing but a GIANT fucking wad of bright flashy site crashing ads now. My sub ran out today and I honestly had NO idea how bad it was until I went and looked at on of my own shots. WTF!

These are all shot in bulb mode and I use the stop watch on my phone. At first I had to shoot a lot of setup shots to get the exposure right but now I have gotten pretty good at being able to judge my light quality. This is a double stacked setup. ND400 with an ND8 on top of it. I THINK this was like a minute and a half exposure at F22. So I just use my stop watch on the phone so I can be pretty exact. I have gotten to where I know where I want my meter to be for the exposure I want to. That can make it easy.

the reason i asked, i just got my 9 stop filter and needed a way to figure my times..i found an article by marc adamus that said, just to double your exp for each stop..ei:if your meter reads the scene(w/out filter) at 1/8 of a second, to add nine stops would be as follows: 1/8>1/4, 1/4>1/2, 1/2>1 sec, 1>2 sec, 2>4 sec, 4>8 sec, 8>15 sec, 15>30 sec and 30 sec>1 min for the 9th stop..from what little i've played with it so far, all of my test shots have been spot on w/the exp...just thought i'd share, and hope you find it useful

Thanks Doug! I know there are so many factors into getting good exposure using these dark filters. How much shadow and sunlight is in a shot can be hell to figure out.
