At first, my intent was for this to be a scene at Helm's Deep. Legolas was the only Elf at that battle, and I've often wondered about that: how it would be to fight entirely among Men (except Gimli) and potentially die for that cause. And would an Elf seem strange to others, especially in Rohan?

But, upon finishing the piece, it could also fit for a number of other scenes (such as drawing for the shot in the dark that struck the Nazgul's mount, or any other scene which you might wish to envision!). It turned into more of a portrait than any particular scene.
