Description The USS Dunnottar

This ship within the Star Trek Online story canon was launched in 2409 as a modified Geneva-Class Command Battlecruiser. During this era my ship tends to fight everyone...

In my Star Trek Dunnottar story canon however this is considered the Pathfinder-Class Command Battleship variant. Launched during the first year of the Dominion War it saw significant action along the Northern front of Cardassian space.

I have been wanting to finally do a line-art version of my ship to allow me to recreate some of the schematics seen in the Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual.

STAR TREK: DUNNOTTAR, a series set primarily in the ‘Deep Space Nine’ and post novel era of STAR TREK lore, follows a team of Starfleet officers who take command of the USS Dunnottar. The Dunnottar is a front-line battleship, built by Starfleet, during a time of what seems to be constant conflict. The ship is crewed by mostly young officers who have learned the ways of Starfleet in a time which has tested the very ideals that the Federation was built upon. Many within Starfleet will wish to return to a time of exploration but they also realize how ill prepared Starfleet was for the recent conflicts. That must not happen again. Following the events of the Dominion War the Dunnottar is assigned to explore an area of space known as the Arthenn Expanse. An uncharted area filled with ancient civilizations and an evil that has been hidden from the galaxy since the days that the mysterious race known as the Travelers used ships to travel the stars. These are the voyages of the U.S.S. Dunnottar.

Thanks! It took a long time to draw it out from the in-game renderings

Does this actually have four engines?  If so, is it one with that "Multi-vector Assault Mode" gimmick?  I like this design no matter what else it may be capable of.

As far as both my story and Star Trek Online are concerned this ship does not have multi-vector assault mode. I was never a big fan of its use really... but yes it does have four nacelles.

I also tweeted the STO designer about his thoughts on the ship’s warp engines. His idea was for two horizontal warp cores running along the upper spine of the ship.

Two Warp Cores, running horizontal instead of vertically, which even the short-height Voyager had, would be very vulnerable to enemy fire.  One crack in one of the core's and "kablewy!"  One of the reasons the saucers have traditionally been connected to the secondary hull via a tall 'neck' is because of the length of the Vertically-mounted warp core.  When they did the ENTERPRISE "E" with the no-neck design, the Warp core was STILL inside vertically for safety as it was really difficult to penetrate that deep inside the ship with phasers, disruptors or torpedo fire.  A warp core breach would still theoretically allow up to 2 or 3 minutes warning so the core could be ejected safely.  It would leave the ship without warp speed but it would not explode and take the whole ship with it.  Long-story-short, a Horizontal-mounted warp core is problematic!

Very good points... I have been trying to figure out how the cores could potentially move slightly to about a 47 degree angle that would allow them to eject back and away from the ship. But that caused some issues with the engineering room layout...  I am not as worried about the location when it comes to penetrating weapons fire.  The cores would still be pretty deep (its a big ship) and they have a significant amount of armor protecting that area.  I will have to think about this a bit more though and seeing that you had concerns about this... then i should come up with, at the least, a good explanation as to how and why this works at some point in my story.  Star Trek: Dunnottar, My fan-fiction novel
