Description Basic tutorial, for beginners, and I apologize, it was VERY rushed.

Okay so I realized I didn't re-upload my Lion Coloring Tutorial when I came back. So I decided to revamp it a little. And make it a little easier. For those who are either, Technology, age, or English challenged.

I included all the little baby steps inbetween, hopefully it's as easy to follow as I think it is. And hopefully there aren't any confusions. This is how I color. You may have a totally different way, that's fine. I'm just sharing how, over the 8 years of digital art I've been doing and learning different short cuts and what not, the system I'm comfortable with.

You can use it for things other than lions, it's just best suited for TLK style coloring and shading. It's meant for all types of Photo shop, and can be adapted for things like gimp, and other programs with some tweaking.

Enjoy, and pick it apart and use what you want from it ^^ I hope if helps.

And if it does send me a link! 8]

And feel free to ask me any questions you may have. (If there are any typos I apologize, dyslexia is a hell of a disease!

For more tutorials, go to my gallery, I have ones on Lineart and shading tips, anatomy, and Backgrounds!

hey, step six is no longer working for me. its as if the magic wand tool doesnt see my line art. it wont stick to it. it tries sometimes, but sends to make squares, or go aorund the whole canvas instead. any ideas?

Is there a reason why in the layers menu, it says layer 13? Is that the first layer or no? I'm confused.

This is really useful! I never knew you could color so easily in Photoshop before, let alone color the lines so they still look clean! This will definitely save me a chunk of time and improve my quality of art (I hope so, anyway). Thank you!

btw, your Ahiru and Uru versions are so sweet! Love them!

GREAT TUTORIAL! i've been searching for tutorials on coloring pics. but some tuts. aren't as detailed as in your tut. I'm just having a little problem on the shading part because i'm coloring an anime girl and it's kinda difficult because of the colors. I'm kinda lazy in the coloring part so i don't really use brush, instead i use the lasso tool but still it takes time. ^v^ Thanks again for this great tut!

You, my friend, just made my life a lot easier. Great tutorials, but this is by far the most helpful. STEP BY STEP. Literally. A lot of tutorials out there skip a lot in between. But this really looks like Disney coloring! I'll definitely be using the method along the lines.

This is really helpful, since I need a lot of practice and needs to know how to do it in order to be ... able to practice. That sounded weird. xD

Anyways, thanks you for a great tutorial. ^^

That tutorial must've been a lot of work.

But I'd like to ask how do you make your lines pointy at the ends? When I draw in photoshop, my lines have the same thickness throughout their entire length (does that make sense?). Do you have to "sharpen" the line with eraser tool?
