Description Had to resist posting this guy while he was still being delivered to a long-time friend. He was a birthday gift.

But now she has him and I can say how enjoyable it was working on this little kitten! I've done one cat plush before but I think I've improved on that pattern.

Specifications:
  • Roughly 7 inches tall when sitting? I forgot to measure.
  • Black alpaca teddy bear fabric, skin-coloured ultrasuede, horse-hair whiskers.
  • 6-way cotter pin jointed with a wobble-joint neck.
  • Glass eyes, hand-sculptured paw pads and nose, and a little steel shot in belly for weight.

Aww, no problem and thanks haha. I've actually started working on some jointed dolls myself, and your work has definitely been an inspiration for me

Yep And thank you! Oh, I did have one question. I'm pretty sure you said the paw pads were sculpted, did you just glue them on to his feet?

Essentially, yup! I trimmed away the fur where I wanted to put them as it was quite dense and had a fairly long pile. Then applied a little super glue to the pad and veeeery carefully placed it on the fabric. I pushed down and held it firmly against the backing of the fabric, not just the fur hairs. And done!

Ooo what are you making?

Thanks, that's good to know

A bunch of things actually haha. I'm planning/working on a series of little dogs with flower crowns. I'm starting with a French Bulldog and I thought it'd be super cute to give them all little paw pads. It's paws are kind of small so I'll have to see if I can do it. I'm also planning a little white rabbit for my mum for Christmas since she loves rabbits and Alice in Wonderland. Oh, and I'm planning a little cactus inspired bear

That sounds like a lot on your plate (and all of it adorable!) but I'm especially excited to see your little dogs! I'll definitely be keeping an eye on your gallery.

Haha, I've constantly got half a dozen projects going on at once >-< It'll probably be a while before I finish any jointed dolls, but thanks!
