Logic says that (not that dragon is logical but hey), but I prefer the Dragonheart kind of relationship but twist that a bit into romance. Kind of Beauty and the Beast, but in the end the Beast doesn't change into human.

Ive always loved this particular piece and have looked at it often. Ive actually posted a story on here about a dragon falling for a human girl.Β But u might not care for it cause it has erotica in it.Β So what is the story behind these two?Β

Well, I haven't write any back story for this illustration, but if I do, I probably will take the Dragon Heart direction more. You know, that 1996 movie. Just with a female protagonist so I can add some romance. I don't mind erotica, but like I said, I don't know how to write about a romantic love between human and dragon without falling into kind of bestiality. Someone already write on how the dragon can turn into human form, but that's not what I'm aiming for.

Dragons love human children more than adults because of their innocence, well more instinctively fond of them.

Why not?

Dragons are a race in this case so membersof other races have the right to have a romance with them.
Also I don't mind when it is a non-human who is a lady (like Legend of Huma). Less common but more romanized.

I am planning a series of short stories with the reverse - a male human and a female dragon that fall in love. Like others said, it relies on shapeshifting magic.

In some old eastern myths (and quite a few more recent tales), dragons- as beings of magic- were considered wholly capable of taking on a humanoid form. Β As far as the "science" behind that...my guess would be dispersing their consciousness into their bioelecrtomagnetic aura and then reshaping their body. Β That's how i reconcile it,

I wrote a couple stories about dragon with human or human-shaped lovers, but in my stories most dragons can shape-shift, so it is kind of a moot point.
I could write a one-shot for you if you want though! it's always nice to have something new to write. Send me a note if you want me to.

Seems outrageously taboo, yet incredibly sexy and fascinating.

Well it's kinda funny actually. The whole reason I found your pictures is because I'm trying to break the writing block on the 'novel' I'm writing about a dragon and a girl falling in love.
If you want I can note you a preview of it ... but I'm afraid that might be all you ever get ... I don't know if I'll ever finish the story but you know that's why I was looking for pictures! To get out of my writers fog! Which this has helped!Β

This makes me think of a novel I have planned - this girl is nicknamed "Dragon" since she loves the creatures so much.

There's the prologue up here somewhere in my writings . . . when it'll be finished, I'm afraid I don't know at this point.

Check out 'Bred by the Dragon' by Johannes Lowe. A friend of mine convinced me to read it, knowing I had a thing for Beauty and the Beast-type romances, and it was actually pretty romantic and fun... despite the drake coming off as a huge D-Bag at first.
It helps that the heroine is a snarky rogue/thief straight out of D&D and puts up with precisely none of his crap.

I see through B&N, and although I didn't actually fond on reading erotic books, it looked promising enough. Sadly, I don't have Kindle or Nook to read them though...

I was actually looking up pictures of girl's falling for dragons as I AM writing a story like that and looking for a bit of inspiration. Though, it's a blond girl with a black dragon.
