Description DS-018 : Custom Import for EverlastingStables
Phenotype |: Sooty Mealy Wild Bay Dun Calva
Genotype |: Ee/AwA/Dd/nPng/nSty/nCal

Type |: African
Gender |: Stallion
Rarity |: 13
Coat - dun +1, pangare +3, sooty +2
Horns - color +1
Other - calva +2

Keep in mind that all African Ballators have stripes naturally - his are much lighter than on your average African EB. He is not brindle. Foals from him can have stripes lighter than their base coat, and they can have similar placement, but they should not be as bright as his are.

This design was specifically based on the Bongo - a lovely orange antelope species in Africa!

Hey Stars, so this guy was brought to my attention and Im sorry, but this is not an acceptable form of calva.
Calva should be a skull/sugar skull like marking on the face with teeth like ticking and the eyes and nose freed of any markings.
There is freedom in what can be done with calva, but it shouldnt be something that you can use as a way to get deer/antelope like markings.
Please be sure to read over all of the breed specific mutation sheets and ask questions if you're not sure on something.
Thanks

Sorry, I thought it would pass! I should have checked though. I can edit it to make it look more like skull markings, but still retain the Bongo "essence" the custom buyer was looking for. Sorry about that!

Heya! I have to change the face marking a bit to make it slightly more skull-like, since that's what calva is supposed to be based off of. Doh! I thought maybe it was similar enough to slip through, but we can't use calva to do literal antelope faces.

I'll try to keep the essence the same while bringing in some skull look. Do you prefer "natural" or "tribal" for the skull influence?

That's a great idea! I'll look up some African mask imagery and skulls and incorporate it. Thanks for that!

When I first saw this guys thumbnail I thought it was based around the Bongo
I love how his striping goes into the back mane and his manes in general :3
I really like the Calva's looks on this one. It totally works with the Bongo theme
