Lynn d'Vadalis III: Hunt of the Wolves

THE STENCH OF DECAY AND BLOOD HAD BECOME ALMOST OVERPOWERING. The odour here nearly made the twins gag, and around them, the herd of sheep they had been assigned to watch were getting nervous. Magebred sheep, they were, Vadalis’ magic turned to improve their wool and milk, much softer-haired than the regular sheep people herded in the Reaches, but they were still animals. As such, they had the wisdom to stay away from places that reeked of death.
The two shepherdesses had no such survival instinct, and went to investigate near the broch. It was one of numerous stone towers that stood around the Reaches to offer shelter to herders and travellers. Wood for a fire was regularly stocked here, and the stone walls protected against all but the fiercest storms and rains. Lynn and Aideen had counted on resting here for the night, but the stone edifice was ruined, its rafters burned. This had happened

It's not a hole, it's a round building lie a broch, and they are checking it out.

So it seems. It would be more of a worry if I never missed any Monty Python references.

Touché. I was referencing the hermit from The Life of Brian. It's been a long time since I last saw the movie, so I can't remember much more than that he was naked and had a ridiculously long beard.

The hermit in Life of Brian? Otherwise, I'll have to admit to my shame that this doesn't ring any bells.

You got it. It's been a while since I last saw that movie, so I can't remember any of his lines.

Superb, as always! Thank you for giving life to the 'arcadian' twins and the druid!
