I love how soft and wistful it looks. It really deserves the Daily Deviation award.
Is it just watercolor? Or is there pencil or pen too?

I love the raw colors. She looks very beautiful and serene. She almost looks like how I envision the goddess of the moon, Serenity. You capture her expression perfectly and I love you drawing style! Well deserved Daily Deviation, congratulations

Strange placement of the ear. I noticed some other pictures in your gallery where the ear is placed incorrectly. Most of your other art is flawless so it sticks out.

I thought the ear position was to emphasize the not-humanness of the subject. Don't want to start a fight, just saying.

Just because you draw a fantasy creature doesn't mean that you can throw anatomy out of the window. In fact you have to be better at it to be able to make the fantastic believable.

But then almost all fantasy would be thrown out the window. Fantasy is fantastical, if it's too believable then its no longer fantasy.

Uhm I think that you missed my point. Say for example that you are drawing a person with a tail. You have to draw that tail in the right place for it to look right, if you put it too high or to low or bend it in a weird way it will look like a person wearing a fake tail and we will not accept the idea that it is a real one. That is why you have to know real anatomy reallywell to create believable fantasy anatomy. This ear for example does not sell me in to the idea that this species of elves got ears growing it of their cheekbones, it just looks weird.

Not really, there are numerous artists throughout history who didn't create anything anatomically correct or know anything about anatomy. In spite of that, their art is considered not only beautiful, but irrefutably, classically, beautiful. It's about personal perspective and expression. You're taking this way too hard.

I'm taking this way to hard? I'm thinking that it might be you that is taking this way to hard. That you in some way take it personally that someone is critiquing an artist that you really admire. I was only trying to give the artist a helpful pointer.
I think that those artists that you refer to knows more about anatomy than you realise. Anyhow it is not respectful to treat Dark134's gallery as a message forum. I would be more than happy to continue this discussion somewhere else.
