My entry for Gwent Art Contest
Of course an Illustration of Kelpie was the right choose for me. I'm a huge fan of the Witcher saga, both the book and the games, and this was just a very good opportunity to honour the serie and do a fanart. This took me around 15 hours to complete and is by far the longest that I've worked on a single illustration. I'm sorry for the watermark, but I wouldn't like to have an artwork that I've worked so hard to be stolen and posted on russian pages where I have no idea how to report them. I will release a smaller non-watermark version once the contest is over.
Oh, and this is probably the first and last time that you will see a horse painted by me that is being ridden.

When viewing the piece for the first time, right off the bat I was drawn into the composition by the beautiful and dynamic pose. Viewers can feel the movement in the piece, the urgency that accompanies what I assume is escape. Even though I do not know much about the characters, the gorgeous atmosphere and emotions are marvelous.
Your use of tones to convey a stark and yet vivid darkness really make the piece. That particular angle of a horse takes a true master to tackle, as it is difficult to convey the strength of a horse while still keeping it elegant.

No conozco el juego como sabes... pero que increibke ilustración. Fue hermoso ver como ibas mostrando wips y esas cosas 
Me gusta tanto la fuerza que desprende, el vigor de esa yegua con esa mujer que mira hacia atrás empuñando su espada... en caso de que las cosas se compliquen. Hermoso el fondo que acompaña tan bien a lo que está sucediendo y por supuesto por lo que están huyendo. Los colores lúgubres le dan más potencia a este pedazo de arte!!!!
Excelente trabajo Geor!!! Sé que me quedo corta... que debe haber infinidad de detalles que olvido. Pero estas fueron las cosas que más me impactaron al verlo

Yes, I must admit I felt pretty bad when I was painting that metal bit on the mouth of such an awesome mare haha but I couldn't find any composition where it looked good and she wasn't riding the mare so I had no other choice
