Description because the world needs another Eye tutorial

somebody asked...nyeah. Not sure what animal it is, most likely a wolf..it looks wolfish but I want really going for any certain shape..I just drew something real fast.

Mainly photoshop, som OC in here. Full view recommended of course unless you have a slow computer because it might just freeze^^ yay for 1000something x 3000something pixels!

possibly my last deviation for a while. I start school tomorrow and it shall kill me ; ;

so now you know what my eyes look like upclose..sorda. See! not so impressive and not so original XP

my little space filler doodles were random because I felt those spots looked empty and then ran out of doodle ideas to put in the others O_O

ignore all mispellings in this deviation if there are any XD the picture was to huge and I didnt want to read over all my text I just wrote. yeah yeah, Im a lazy person..so sue me.

if yall want more OC fur stuff, I have a OC fur tutorial [link] [link]

I have none for photoshop, but its not all that original either =/ there are other tutorials on the web^^

Your eyes remind me so much of Off White, I love the way your eyes seem to leap out of the page and share emotion and possibility for the character!

Really nice, I love the lighting! I just can't seem to get that right myself, always ending up with either too much blended in lighting spots or with a spot that looks like it's floating xD. But I'll try again anyway (a).

i keep looking through tutorials, and i find myself asking... DONT ANY DECENT ARTISTS DRAW BY HAND ANYMORE?!?!?!
not a single person has a tutorial not done on a tablet or at least on a computer...
and since it seems the rest of you (that is, everyone) are better than me even though i know all the basics... do you use a computer because it's easier or because it comes out better? o.O seems like people on my level with computers still come out looking 10x more professional...
i dunno, its just kinda frustrating... :/

daisy7 In reply to SeiyonoRyuu [2012-02-16 17:27:33 +0000 UTC]

Uhh...welcome to artist depression? where everybody feels like they suck compared to everybody else no matter what they do? I made a tutorial because people kept asking me how I did things. This was also made in 2005. So thanks for calling me decent? I actually did draw this by hand..on my tablet...but technicalities..

I use a computer because its cleaner. I don't have to pull out a load of paints and water and pastels and then have to clean it all up afterwards. I can sit down at a computer, paint when I feel like it and stop when I feel like it and not worry about junk under my fingernails or paint getting on various surfaces it shouldnt.

The traditional tools that I own are very few and I'll admit that I'm rusty with them, I also dont have the money to replace them >.> Most people can get their art programs for free and find a discounted tablet which is cheaper in the long run (my tablet given to me) than going through alot of art tools. However, this does not mean that digital is superior to anything else...its a preference...

There are plenty of artists who do do good traditional art and are just as popular or professional as people who use digital.

check out this:
[link]
[link] are professionals at everything
[link]
[link] is a professional animator
[link] has been used as book covers
[link]
[link] I think they might use some digital

one thing that helps..they draw great and have great scanners

I know theres one chick who has a pastel/watercolor tutorial but I don't remember her name.

so in general, a good artist is a well rounded artist. The true professionals use a multitude of tools. Every artist has dreams of being good at what they do or dreams of grandeur that will never happen. The majority of people you find on deviantart are going to be hobbyists who never get anywhere with art (I have a degree in art but Im a registered nurse) the people who are popular today will be forgot about a year from now and disappear from the internet or artworld forever. I've been a member here for around 10 years and have seen more popular people and fads come and go then I can think about.

So you can be free to vent your frustration because everybody on deviantart feels frustrated but any tips and hints you receive are going to be the same no matter what art tools you use....PRACTICE AND STUDY ANATOMY. That is all there is to it. If you suck at traditional media then you're going to suck at digital. USE THE TOOLS YOU LIKE and be persistent because you can only improve..unless you quit then you stagnate.
