so the result of this hypothetical crossover would be a young Mr. eye candy, with no sense of social norms and zero tact or respect for his teachers, peers, school procedures or school property, being a ponce 24/7... i like it, but definitely not because of the reason you intended.
Moffat's Sherlock (ignoring EVERYTHING that made the original what it was) is but a lazy intrigue show, not a mystery. sure it sets the stage and its characters well, but when it "delivers" its all a backhanded attempt to be cool or a stretch to bate more fans for the next episode. take Cumberbatch for example- a man i could TOTALLY believe being a high functioning sociopath in real life, is written like a sadistic Dumbledore, pulls facts out of thin air, and acts like lazy Sheldon cooper with a drug problem. but everyone loves the sherlock character because "he's so smart", "he and watson would be so cute together", and above all, he looks like Cumberbatch...
Chris Columbus directed both the first 2 harry potter movies and he wrote another gem you might want to see. it was called 'Young Sherlock Holmes'. rated PG-13 (in 1985, so that means it has more traumatic imagery than swear words), a 2 hour running time, a possible inspiration for the harry potter series, has a beginning a middle and an end, and features sword fighting, chemical analysis, flying machines and nightmarish LSD trips. have fun: www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NES9L…

I laughed my head off at Mrs. hudson's Not your House Elf bit, and I LOVED the Hound of the Forbidden Wing part. Awesome, I wish season three would hurry up already!! I would definitely see Irene Adler as a Slytherin, she is certainly ambitious, and I could totally see Sherlock telling the hat that it was boring him, this is brilliant
