yes, in germany they start halloween
but i dont agree with the american tradition in germany. i love the american halloween, but not the german one. the big shops just want to sell a lot on halloween and the kids are verry agressive. they just want candy or money and do nothing for it.
its so sad, last week we had "sankt martin" a traditional german thing. every kid goes with a selfmade lamp from house to house and sing some "sankt martin" songs. if the people liked it,they give the childrens something like candy,money or fruits. the sad thing is,no one came.nobody was on the street with his wonderful lamp and sings.but on halloween,every kid was there,with eggs,with fire and screams.i hope you know what i mean. i love halloween in america but in germany its just a desaster

Halloween in America was like that, originally. It was all pranks, and BAD ones!!! I read a story about boys who put grease on railroad tracks! such dangerous things they did, thankfully it is not that bad anymore, but I'm sure there are still bad things going on, just not as much...it's too bad that it is like that where you live....maybe some day you can come here for a visit!
