Description
A kelpie is a mythological creature that usually takes the form of a white or black horse. It is a friendly animal that lures weary travelers to it, but once they're on its back, the creature plunges into the river or pond from whence it came to drown and devour the hapless victim. It's also said to take on the form of a handsome man or woman and sneaks into villages to deflower virgins.I don't know if I really like this drawing. I feel like I ruined it with all those random ass water lilies.

Ah Kelpies, always awesome. I remember learning about them when I was still in primary school and wrote a story involving one but I think I decided to make it a 'nice' Kelpie (if I'd stayed true to the story I think my teachers would have been concerned) I quite like the water lillies, they contrast quite well with how 'white' the Kelpie is.

Wonderfully drawn! I love the expressive face and the pose. I wouldn't say the water lilies ruined this work at all, in fact, I would add a few more to the left-center side of the painting, parallel to the tail.

I always forget about horse's weird pupils. Funny drawing, horse looks shocked.

I used to feel nervous around horses, the way they would stare, their size, and big teeth. I always imagined them eating humans.

I guess horses do ocassionally kill other animals with their teeth. It's not surprising, they've got enough muscle to really pick something up and thrash it.

It's very well drawn; the waterlillies are actually more uniform than random, but if you just think of them as the green things growing on the pond it lends a creepy air to it that really suits the creepy aspects of the kelpie. Waterlillies are pretty and being drowned and eaten by a horse is not a pretty thought.
