Thank you very much.
There was not so much else to shoot in Frankfurt,
so I started with architecture and it became a passion.

I've also heard that Frankfurt has amazing architecture. I might visit the city next summer. If that is the case I'll also definitely grab a camera with me. Good luck for the next trip!

Chinacomplex In reply to whathisname [2010-12-12 12:02:11 +0000 UTC]

Frankfurt itself is not that impressive.
Compared to Berlin, Hamburg etc.
But for someone who likes modern architecture and
skylines it is a must.
Good luck for you too.

Oh, thank you very much.

Because of my username?
I am very interested in Asian culture and history.
I learned some Japanese in school etc.

But regretfully I never made it to China or Japan yet.
Only stayed in Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore for a couple of months.

What brought you to such a distant shore Andreu? Business?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

andreupardales In reply to Chinacomplex [2010-12-08 13:17:09 +0000 UTC]

Oh wow, your art gives me the impression that you have been to such places already.

what brought me here..hmm..FATE i would say. Never really imagined i would stay in this country for 5 years now. nevertheless, it has helped me deepen my perspective in photography. The charm this place offers in terms of subject for the art has really drawn me to stay a little longer.

btw, I teach Biology in one of the international schools here in Beijing and at the same time spearheads in a photography club as well.

love your art and the feeling it evokes. if an opportunity comes up, I would be honored to work with you in future project.

Keep on inspiring..

Peace!

I love travel-photography.
It gives so much room for interpretations and you always see
something new in them.

It is a big step to decide to live in such a country.
Far away from home. With a totally different culture and language.
You need a lot of courage for it.

So you donΒ΄t have to deal with mandarin doing your working live?
Sounds good, because mandarin seems to be a pretty hard language
to learn.
I spent two years in Nice, sadly never really learning French totally.

Such a project sounds very interesting to me.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

andreupardales In reply to Chinacomplex [2010-12-22 04:57:00 +0000 UTC]

yup, good thing i dont have to speak mandarin at work.
yep it is such a big change to have lived here.

and yes travel photography is such an interesting side of photography.
what motivated you to shoot in minimalist type of photos?

yes such project interests me too hence was thinkin about overseas collaboration with talented artists such as you!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Chinacomplex In reply to andreupardales [2010-12-24 15:28:03 +0000 UTC]

I donΒ΄t know.
I think art means flowing. You can not plan it.
You find your own style not by trying or planning.
It comes to you naturally.
Of this is not the case, then maybe you donΒ΄t have it in you.

I am somehow a minimalistic guy.
I love rooms with little furniture inside.
Wide open spaces with room to breathe.

Do you already have some ideas in your mind regarding
this collaborations?

I've only been in the presence of such buildings a couple times--you would be able to pick me out of a crowd sooo easy in the city. just look for the hayseed standing on the street looking up

Cool shot Daniel

Have you ever been to Chicago John?
People tell me this place is a must-see for me.
I would love to go there for Indian summer.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Corvidae65 In reply to Chinacomplex [2010-12-11 19:11:09 +0000 UTC]

yes, I've been to Chicago several times. I've not seen very much there as mostly I was going to load or unload at some warehouse and didn't make it into the city proper but once. It depends on what you want to see while you're there on how much of a must see it would be There are lots of parks and public areas with interesting art, sculpture and architecture I'm told.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Chinacomplex In reply to Corvidae65 [2010-12-12 11:49:22 +0000 UTC]

Yes I know what you mean.
Going somewhere for business is always something else.
You donΒ΄t have the time or the freedom to walk around the place,
to take some pictures etc.

Working sucks.

We will see my friend, maybe one day I will go there.
