This is a single frame or test shot from a video I created during the Christmas holidays in 2022. Being a fan of space battles in movies, I find them enjoyable to watch. However, they often tend to be relatively brief, featuring only a few blurry spaceships. As a result, I decided to create my own space battle movie with 500 spaceships in Python and POV-Ray.
My objective was to explore the feasibility of "programming" a video, including simulations and 3D models, using fewer than 1000 lines of code. The video features 500 spaceships, a rotating space station, a planet, stars, lasers, and explosions. There was no video or 3D editing; everything was accomplished solely through code.
