It's an uploading frenzy today...The title if this one says it all - Buffy and Spike. Together and not so much with the dysfunctional. Just the way I like them.
Full gamut of H's and B's in an A3 sketchbook. They're actually inside a full circle, but I couldn't fit that on my scanner (dammit!!).

I am attempting to draw Spike and Nikki from btvs, I'm having a bit of trouble on the leather coat...any recommendations on how you highlighted and got it so dark?Β

Can you give any pointers when it comes to drawing spikes hair? Do you recommend regular graphite pencils? I can draw most hair fine but his is giving me problems

HI!
The best pointer I can give in this instance is that what you DON'T draw matters more than what you do draw. Don't be afraid to just leave the white paper. Which is mostly what I've done here.
Concentrate on the shadows the hair leaves, rather than the hair itself and use the background to give definition.
Also, the eraser is your friend! It's my favourite tool for getting highlights and graduations in tone.

Actually I think the composition looks good how it's scanned... (not showing the complete circle). I think it might seem a little to symmetrical if it showed the whole thing....Β but that's just me i guess. great job on this.

awesome job, rewatching Buffy on netflicks and if anyone should be together its those two .Spike is the cooler of the two vampires and he earned his soul for her! His journey to her was far better.
