A simply awe inspiring photo, i think it is helped as much by the subject as by the skill of the photographer. What I like about these types of photographs is the way that something that is so powerful over such a short period of time retains its visual power at least.
It's also kind of wierd that the camera is the only way we can truly appreciate the magnificent spectacle of a lightning strike; the effect on the naked eye is simply to quick to take in...

Awesome shot, it must have taken alot of patience. I bet it is frustrating to get your camera set up and get ready, and a streak of lightning goes off out of your view.
