It was uncomfortable... but German soldiers loved it for the armored protection it gave. Its slanted armor gave it greater survive-ability than any other transport at the time. It was also as fast and versatile as the Panzers it would accompany... making this the backbone of Germany's Panzer Divisions.
I have heard nightmare stories getting these things restored though... kudos to guys who got this thing running.

True, the bad reputation from mechanics and drivers point of view ...maybe, the regular soldier's attitude was positive and as U mentioned Sdkfz was one of best supportive vehicles ever made and used widely during IIWW

Excellent point... I know that Sherman tankers had a tough time taking those things out at range.
