Not Using reference is sometimes a thankless job. When you REALLY pull it off people just assume you used Reference ANYWAY!!! LOLBut here is My Captain who makes it happen. The only reference used was the Eagle's Beak.
The rest was from my mind. I felt like a Hand was massaging my brain. lol.

There is a VERY risky part in it and that's the Cross hatches on the face. If I were you I would use a crowquill dip pen and get really thin and scratchy. That's the style I was going for. But that's just a suggestion. Please have fun.
And yeah, please feel free to detail the Jets however you like maybe ad a thin whispy cloudline if you're feeling like it's a party.

I saw this posted on the FB page of the Self Publishers... I noticed you linked it so it could be downloaded and inked... So, mind if I take my time and give it a shot? I'm just an amateur myself though... But I think I can fix up those fighters for you a bit and keep them in the spirit of the rest of the piece and try to ink it. Sound like a plan?

As far as what I'll ink it with, I'll be working digitally using Manga Studio Debut, so the tiny details shouldn't be too much of a problem. In that respect, it won't be real ink... But very good simulation. I think it'll be fun. I've already got some great references of the F-22 Raptor to use for the fighter jets (being an Air Force vet and all... I like to add that level of realism to aircraft, after all airplanes where the first REAL ART I ever was able to accomplish, all else has been learning... and struggling...).
