“So, just cheese curds and gravy on fries?” Isaiah picked suspiciously at the bowl.
“That’s it, that’s all,” said JC. “It’s one of the things you have to have in Montréal, mon ami. You have to try some poutine, and you have to have a smoked meat sandwich.”
Isaiah raised an eyebrow, took a bite of the poutine, and then his eyes widened. “Oh my God. This is awesome.”
JC smiled, and started eating his own food. “Glad you like it. If there’s one thing we do well….”
Isaiah took another bite, and then grinned nastily. “Although, you know, it’s just a few short steps away from chili cheese fries. Think of how much you could improve this.”
JC stared in horror, and the rhino laughed. “Kidding, kidding,” he said.
“That’s the meanest thing you’ve ever said to me,” JC muttered, and Isaiah laughed again. The deer brightened. “Come on, let’s eat up. There’s a few other neat shops down the way, and we want to be done on time before the hockey game.”
