Guess who appeared at my doorstep today... a technician with a generic PC along with new motherboard and all put together and installed himself, apparently all paid for by my dad. It's almost too bad that my mom gave away the surprise about over a day prior (she had assumed that my dad had already informed me or at least had discussed over it with me, and I was like "No.....he didn't [wtf?]" all dumbstruck with mixed feelings -I mean, yeah I'm internally besides myself with delight but with my dad's poor track record as far as computers are concerned, I can't help but feel somewhat wary at the same time, but kept quiet about it decided just wait and see.... and much to my relief, to put it succinctly, it seems like he had learned from his past mistakes in that regard and basically made up for it).
Some of the stuff from the old PC's hard disk is already transferred into the new PC so far (the technician will come again tomorrow to finish the rest), including -thank goodness- my Photoshop _(：3 」∠ )_ However I'm not sure yet about the program for my old scanner, I might find out tomorrow on that, but anyway which ever the case I'm planning to get a printer+scanner, hopefully soon (since my old scanner is kind of spoiled as the images comes out with thick weird blue lines, plus my printer is kind of ancient anyway).
Welp, I don't know what else to say here, there's no words to describe how glad and grateful I am (albeit admittedly kind of grudgingly, as me and my dad don't have a great relationship to put it simply, but yeah I've thanked him for it...in my own awkward way, of course). I had kinda feared this won't happen for a rather long time and I definitely was not expecting this surprise (my family ain't rich either) especially since knowing my dad...*stares at new PC*
I guess you all can rejoice now that y'all don't have to probably wait for a pic or whatever from me for what I had believed would be ages, though there might not be a semi-realistic pencil sketch for a while yet until I get the aforementioned scanner issue sorted, but I've my old Wacom tablet and boy I haven't drawn anything with it in a really long time (heck I can't remember)...well, I guess this a good opportunity as any to brush up on it X'D
