Ballpoint pen and acrylics on cardstock.I haven't been drawing much lately, so this is the first thing, beyond a few doodles, that I made in 2018. I considered adding more seaweed, but I didn't want it to busy for when I painted the background. I quite like how this one turned out. No major accidents with the paint!
It's based on a more elaborate aquatic piece that I have been working on for a while, but it will probably be some time before I finish that.

I did an art project where we had to do a full page of whatever you'd call the designs that you did for the hair and that took forever, and a lot of planning to make sure everything looks good. I'm a sucker for the little details, so the folding and waviness of the seaweed being so well done makes me happy-I'm weird. Don't judge me LOL. And she's an Amputee? Maybe the smol shark in the other image decided to have a snack? I wonder how that would affect her swimming. Well, maybe I shouldn't say her. This merperson is a bit androgynous which brings a bit of mystery to the piece. As for the colored background, I really find the design pretty cool. It's not a drippy effect, almost like an aurora borealis like effect.
