Hmmmm.... you know, I think there's really no "right way" to use a medium. If you find one that's awesome and works for you, that's the best way to go! Your style is very cool! I actually think the graphic approach is really unique - definitely caught my eye. Your style reminds me of a more graphic version of Omar Ryaan's work. Very lovely feel to it. Granted, if you want to develop it to be more "alive" as you say, there's never anything wrong with continuing to explore and develop your work!
