a commission fori drew her as a sleeping mermaid kidnapped by some giant white octopus, who's visibly hopelssly fell in love with the mermaid and hid with her somewhere amongst coral reef,so it turned out to be a preety scary underwater version of Beauty and The Beast story
but i bet the octopus doesn't really want to hurt the sleeping mermaid, just stroke her head and play with her hair
the original is generally bigger and look much better than the photo, and i hope shall like it

I thought I commented on this when I favorited it, but I guess not.
I love the concept of the underwater Beauty and the Beast. That's one of my favorite fairy tales and it fits so well here. There's something terribly sweet about how tenderly the Octopus is stroking the mermaid and something slightly sad. It feels like she might swim away if she wakes up.
Those tentacles are fantastic too.

octopus and any other under-water sea creatures basically scare me to death practically... but this picture brings me to peace. The octopus is obviously happy, and so is the mermaid. (since she's alseep. lol. )
