Only indoors, but our homes and shops are full of these wonderful plants now in December!
We call it Julestjerne, that means Christmas Star. They are mostly in red, but we have pink and white etc. here too.

They should be planted outdoors after Christmas. I'll bet the Christmas Star would love the Norwegian winters. Short days, long nights, many flowers!

I do think they would too! But we would have to keep them alive until the ground no longer was frozen...
Actually I had a Christmas Star one year that survived the winter indoors. I had it for some years in my livingroom and it got huge! Like a little tree, haha

Cool!
They really are a tree and live forever, at least in México. You're probably right, maybe they wouldn't survive a Norwegian winter unless you kept them indoors until spring.

A pretty weed. They're perennial and every year they get bigger and bigger. Planted on the east side of a house, they can cover half a wall, low maintenance, with dramatic effect.
70% of the poinsettias in the US are sold by the Ecke family that also controls 50% of the worldwide market. I'll bet you never imagined a poinsettia mafia. Good name for a band!
