Description Absolutely massive semi-aquatic lifeforms, Orions have had a major presence in the Milky Way for well over five hundred years. Throughout this expansion, they’ve become synonymous with organized crime, piracy, and slavery. A frightful presence, a large adult female can top out at well over eight meters in length, an adult male typically reaches half that.

Orions are very sexually dimorphic, most species in their genus are. Males are more common than females and traditionally they would serve as hunters and enforcers, in turn, the females would provide protection. A version of this system has existed for millions of years among Orion’s ancestors, and the females have developed a number of adaptations to better control and provide for their harems. Most notably, their pheromones. Orions can produce an airborne chemical cocktail that can induce a submissive state in those exposed to it. Other symptoms include brain fog and heightened libido.

The males are more aquatic than the females, due to their role as hunters. The distant ancestors of modern Orions were primarily piscivorous. The pursuit of larger and larger prey had a heavy role in the development of Orion sapience. Early Orion civilizations were composed of whalers and conquerors.

Orion pirate queens often have a ship of their own entirely staffed by members of their harem. During their first encounters with new species the males and females often pretend to be two different species, the females either pretending to be dumb animals or slaves to manipulate their marks.

Their mandibles are derived from similar structures to their legs, meaning they’re just as much arms as they are mouthparts.
