Description Aquilatrogon lepidogaster is a hawk-like machiaratrogon from the southern forests of Northern Iapetus. Unlike most other machiaratrogons, A. lepidogaster rarely, if ever, feeds on fruit, feeding almost exclusively on small animals that it pounces upon, carries off to a favorite perch, and fits into its surprisingly tremendous gape.
Here we see one having seized an unidentified icarothere.
