Description
This was a lot of fun to paint, especially since it features one of my favorite subjects.
The canine family is majestic and amazing.
Painted in MyPaint (which is free and open source) in around 3-4 hours total.
I mainly focused on fur and value control, as I'm trying to improve in those areas. Constructive criticism is welcome and appreciated!

I love the texture of the fur and the shininess of the eye.
I think this piece would be even more amazing if you drew a detailed background with nature and a nice atmosphere.

I like this paint quite a bit. I can see where you took your efforts and its really quite nice. I really love the muzzle and the chest area. That nose is awesome! I feel like i could just poke it, so cute. Since you asked for constructive crit i'll try... I think you could use a different tone in the fur to really breathe some more depth into the fur. I think if you added a different color to the shadow (including on the lighter portions of the fur) it would bring out the texture even more! I think since the face is a smoother fur, if you added some glossy (still dog-like though) texture to go along with the smoothness of that area, it would also bring out more life into your picture. I don't really color, personally, so I hope you can understand what I mean

really cute. I used Mypaint in the past, and it is a very easy, yet good program for digital art. Not to mention it's free.

You can add more detail to the fur by using the sharper brush. What I mean by sharper brush is not the fuzzy one. (I hope you get what I mean...lol) Try adding some darker or lighter streaks in certain areas so your piece won't look so...blurry. For example try adding small streaks of white at the tips of the white fur. When using the sharper brush, use it at a lower or moderate opacity to keep you careful with your brush. One question though, did use a mouse for this? Or a tablet? I managed to do just fine (if a bit time consuming) using a mouse and if you use a tablet I think it'll come even more easier.
