The eldest Crawley sister, Lady Mary! I'll admit that in the first season, she really annoyed me. But she has grown on me a lot and is definitely one of my favorite characters currently.I'm also slightly obsessed with doing these pictures, but I can't just keep painting the Crawley sisters--who should I do next?
Hashed out this piece last week while taking breaks from my thesis, so please ignore the fact that her dress looks ridiculous.
Now I've got to buckle down and work on ~slakerart 's prize from the #DowntonAbbey contest!

This is really great. Again, you've captured her look completely. I love the color scale and how somber and contemplative this picture ended up being. And I like the feathery fwooshes on her dress.

Thank you so much! It's not actually too hard--I use a reference picture, sketch with a grid, and just vary brushes and opacity a lot.
Ooh, a man. I've always struggled with guys, but he would be an excellent challenge. I'll keep him in mind for the next one!
