Description Pano of three images stitched together from the magnificent Quiraing on the North east of Skye, Scotland. The weather wasen't too good to us ....there has been much cloning out of rain spots! lol

For film buffs, the Quiraing is featured a few times in the film Stardust , chiefly with Michelle Piffer walking along the ridge.

I just came down from the Isle of Skye
I'm no' very big and I'm awful shy
The lassies shout as I go by,
"Donald, where's your troosers?"

Let the winds blow high,
Let the winds blow low,
Through the streets in my kilt I go
And all the lassies say "hello!
Donald where's your troosers?"

Wish you could clone out some of the rain!

I read on someones' photo that the Quiraing was sculpted by consequent landslides and that there's a part, near the town of Flodigarry, where it's still moving so they have to redo the road every year there.

oh wow.. i see. i wonder what the soil composition is like. any ideas if they've tried/what they've tried to do to stabilise the soil?

Nope! I even live on another continent so it would be quite difficult for me to have a look at it at the moment

Maybe on the internet there's some info about the soil composition of this area and what they do in this village to stabilise it.
